2012

40th ANNUAL FALLON ELKS INVITATIONAL
March 24, 2012

Thank you for participating in this long running event.
Every year since 1972 the Fallon Elks Club and the CCHS Track and Field Team have joined together to put on a quality event. In honor of the 40th anniversary we will be adding a “throw back event” this year to the meet. You may enter 1 boy and 1 girl in the 100 yard dash. Lanes and heats will be assigned randomly for this event and there will be no trials. We will score the event and the 4 events per athlete rule applies. There will be no medals for this event, but the winner will receive a customized sweat shirt. We will still have the normal 100 meter competition.
• ENTRIES: 4 athletes per event - except the 100 yard dash. Only 1 relay team per relay event. 4 events maximum per athlete. Entries will only be accepted through www.athletic.net. No faxed or mailed entries will be accepted. See registration direction attachment.
• DEADLINES: Confirm your intent to attend by March 9th. Use the supplied form or confirm through Athletic.net. Entries must be registered by Tuesday March 20th by 12:00 noon using Athletic.net. E-mail scratches to Coach Heck if possible by Thursday March 22nd - no additions. If you find out about scratches on Friday call Coach Heck’s cell phone. We will have a scratch session at the coaches meeting, but please try to have your scratches in before then.
• FEE: $175 per school. ADMISSION: $4 adults, $3 students
• TIMING: Electronic timing using Finish Lynx camera system
• SCORING: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
• COACHES MEETING: 8:00am behind the bleachers near the restrooms. Remember to submit all scratches in advance so we can avoid re-seeding events on meet day.
• STARTING TIMES: Field Event: 8:30am Running Events: 9:00am
• COACH’S HOSPITALITY ROOM: Located in the building behind the restrooms.
• CONCESSIONS: Two concession stands. Breakfast will be available.
• CAMPS: Teams may camp in the north grass area. Do not locate team camps directly next to the starting line or near the discus area. No tents in the home side bleachers. Please ask your athletes to clean their camp area before leaving. No coaches or spectators inside of fence except for pole vault coaches. Athletes may not camp out on the infield – only currently competing athletes will be allowed inside the fence.
• AWARDS: Medals 1 - 3 places, ribbons 4 - 5. Team Trophies for 1st & 2nd place small and large school boys and girls. Most Valuable Male and Female athlete trophies.
• SPIKES: Maximum length 3/16 inch pyramid or needle spikes. There will be a spike check. Spikes will be available for purchase in the concession stand.
• TRIALS: Trials will take place in the 100m, 200m and 110/100 hurdles in the morning.
• MINIMUM MARKS: Minimum marks will be adhered to. Jumps and throws that do not make the minimum mark will not be measured. Make sure your athletes understand this. If necessary, we will adjust the minimum marks after reviewing entries.
